The Craft Cycle

Hello there! I’m Amy and I’d like to welcome you to the Craft Cycle, a place that combines my two greatest passions: crafting and recycling.

There’s an innate joy in creating something with your own hands. While my main disciplines include crochet, knitting and pottery, I am what people might call a dabbler- I just love to try new crafts! My ideal evening activity would be settling down with a craft kit involving craft techniques that I have never tried before.

Where did it all begin?

Fellow crafters can probably relate to the fact that the more you craft, the more materials you acquire. My crafting cupboard started overflowing with wonderful supplies I had simply forgotten about. I then started looking around my home and realised that too was full of… stuff! A feeling I’m sure many people can relate to.

I realised how much money I was spending on new materials when my home was filled with things that could be reused, repurposed, and crafted into something new. Along with this, I had a desire to fill my home with handmade things that brought me real joy. I realised things I had bought that I no longer wanted, but weren’t good enough to be donated, I could reuse to make something new! This was moment I founded The Craft Cycle.

What is the Craft Cycle?

The Craft Cycle is a place for craft guides and inspiration using everyday items that would otherwise be waste. Reimagining items we already own not only saves money on buying materials, but also stops the endless consumption cycle that leads to waste.

Holey socks? Old bedding? Used Yoghurt pots? That’s my bread and butter! I love a challenge for repurposing items and giving them a second life. My main aim is to make useful items and fill my home with homemade goods.
