Use-Up Project #1

Brace yourself for the simplest upcycle you could imagine: a yoghurt pot transformed into plant pot for your seeds!

We are all swimming in plastic. Whilst there are ways to consciously reduce the volume we buy, the next thing to focus on is giving the plastic we do buy a second life.

So gather up those yoghurt pots and lets get planting!

All you need to do is clean your yoghurt pots and add a few drainage holes in the base.

I carefully poked through four evenly spaced holes using a pair of scissors. Do be careful when doing this and ask for help where needed!

You can then fill the pot with soil and pop in your seeds!

The holes will allow the plant to suck up water from the base and ensures the soil doesn’t become water logged.

I planted up a set of tomatoes and will update with photos as they grow!

Let me know if you have any other ideas of ways of recycling items for gardening!
